Handwork - Part One.

Ann-Maree's basket block, one of 195 needed for this quilt.

Sarah spent the day cutting up these beaut fabrics.

 Eleanor's hexies and funky purse.

Heather's 'Nearly Insane' blocks with many many more to come.

 Joy binding her quilt.

Claire spent the day cutting out her fabrics, delicious aren't they!

 Kyishia binding her quilt.

There was a lot of binding going on today, Jenn binding her quilt.

Selina binding the Wedding Quilt she made for her Stepbrother.

Lissa is making spool blocks 2 7/8ths finished, she was going to make a bed quilt requiring 900 blocks but thinks she might make an iPad cover instead :-)

Jean is usually one of the first SCQuiters to arrive, and she comes all the way from Terrigal... but today she got off the train at Hornsby and bought this beaut skirt!   I've forgiven her even though didn't didn't bring a late note  :-)

I find it so interesting that everyone who's handsewing binding to their quilt is doing it upside-down from the way most of us do it here, and from the way I teach it! Could it be because you're upside-down there, down-under as you are? LOL It would be fun to discuss this and learn why everyone bends their quilt binding backward as they do, instead of just putting the binding closest to your body.

I was making spool blocks.. 2 7/8" finished.. I wanted to make a bedquilt but will need over 900 blocks, so am thinking an iPad case or UFO might be on the cards,,
Thanks for the pics and a day out...
