04 July 2010

It was a pretty cold Winters day in Sydney but very warm and cosy at the Blue Gum... so what's all the fuss about?

What are all these SCQuilters doing standing up and gathered around some tables?
Aaahhhh.... three SCQuilters are making the same quilt. Heather's blocks on the top left, Cate's joined together below and Claire's blocks on the right... aren't they terrific!

Cate and Kerry.

Here is Kerry's quilt... a finished quilt, similar to those blocks above.

A Sampler quilt made by Kerry.

Liz, Dianne and Sue.

Liz has started these sample blocks... she needed a change from Frogs and Owls.

Dianne has her bow ties together now and has started quilting. I love the way they've turned out after watching her making the blocks for a few months.

I have to admit... this Quilt of Sue's was my favourite for the day! Isn't it spectacular!
Funky even! :-)
It's so good I had to put two photos in.

Jill and Dina.

Jill's Kimono quilt.

Dina won the Show and Tell Competition this month with all her wonderful Show... the prize is just the Cred! Nothing more just the fame :-)

All the quilts below are made with a Wedge Ruler, different size Wedge Rulers... aren't they spectacular! This is a wall hanging.

This one is a Table Runner.

A Butterfly.

One of several Place mats.

A child's play mat.
And lastly a WIP!

Muniaba and Penny.

Muniaba made this twirly scarf using some amazing gold flecked wool... it looks terrific on her and I'm sorry I didn't get a photo of her wearing it.

Penny has just finished her beautiful Dancing Dolly quilt... all hand made and hand quilted.

Marilyn, Pennie and Bec.

Not the usual Show and Tell but I just had to show you what I ordered for my Lunch! A Pork Shank with Porcini Mushrooms vegetables and mash!
It was absolutely delicious, scrumptious and yummy in every way... but way too much for one person to eat so I had to ask for a Doggy Bag. So this enormous Pork Shank became Pennie's Lunch... and DH David's dinner :-) not bad for $21 eh!

I did have real Show as well. I made this Cloche... I knitted one just the same as the one on the left of this photo, then threw it in the washing machine with a load of towels! Which became the Cloche on the right!
Modeled by my Beautiful DD2 Briony who is up visiting from Canberra!

Marilyn didn't have Show this week but Bec was very pleased to have finished off her Bedford Challenge which I will show with all the other SydneySCQuilters Bedford Challenges when I go to my other computer where the old photos are.

Kate and Heather

I couldn't decide which photo I liked the best with these two... Heather looks the same in both but Kate looks a bit too happy in the one above or a bit too serious in the one below... so I put them both in :-)
Kate is making this quilt for a friends baby.
At last she's found the use for a wavy ruler... to mark her quilting lines! The quilting rather makes the quilt doesn't it.
Heather's DD made this quilt many years ago when she was still at school, she didn't quite finish the quilting so it was put away but found by one of their cats who did some damage while making it his home... now that Heather's DD is expecting her first child... a boy... the quilt has been bought back to life by Heather. Lovely story isn't it.
Ros and Imogen... I did warn Imogen who was here with her mum Kate, that this photo would be going all around the world... she said that would be fine she didn't mind at all LOL
This is the start of something big by Ros, isn't it amazing! you should see the holey fabric she cut her pieces from!
Ros's blocks all about the joys of quilting!
There is nothing truer than the below is there eh!

Jackie and Cath.

Jackie made this quilt for her son, she got the drawings from photos on the Internet... very impressive for someone who has only been quilting for two years eh!
Jackie's Migraine Quilt... Jackie really loved a quilt that Claire showed last month so while enjoying a sleepless night, after a migraine, she made one similar.

#1 of Cath's Christmas Panel quilts.
#2 of Cath's Christmas Panel quilts
Cath has put these fabric samples to excellent use hasn't she...
I love this table runner of Cath's.
