It was Full House at the Blue Gum Pub yesterday, 33 SCQuilters arrived, the noise level was high, the chat was interesting and inspirational, everybody was busy with handwork, ('cept me) and it was soo lovely to see so many happy faces!

One SCQuilter flew in from Melbourne, she has become a sort of regular, another flew home to the Phillipines today, one drove up from Albion Park Rail others from the foothills of the Blue Mountains, many were a bit closer with only a one hour drive and some of us had enjoyed a 10 minute drive.  We are a big mix of good friends aren't we!   How lucky are we all being able to find like minded friends from all around Australia through the internet and be able to meet monthly for a lovely catch up.  I just love it!!

Some Wonderful Show and Tell to start off the New Year!

I'm afraid I need some help...  I can't remember who made this lovely table runner and I can't see them behind it!

Plus below, I remember wowing over this quilt but I can't remember who made it... help!   AND  I think I've seen it before.....

Jackie made this Spider Man Quilt, actually it's a 'Super Hero' quilt.

I can't believe this but... Becky started and finished these two booties at the Pub yesterday!  If I know Becky, they have probably been felted already, love to see them again next month Becky.

This black cat was being appliqued onto a tea towel made by Jan, fun tea towel eh!

Kathleen was sewing the binding down on this lovely little wall hanging for her friend Sue, who had sewn all this beautiful hand quilting.

I'm loving these big Hexagons of Shirley's, all made from Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

I think I might be getting back to Hexies... I know I swore I never would after finishing my enormous Hexie Quilt but, they do make for easy handwork to take to Pubs or friends homes, don't they!

Here is my Hexie Quilt, the one that's put me off hexagons for the past 3 years!  The top is finished but have I quilted it... No!

I can't remember how many 1/2" Hexies I made, it's in the 1,000's!  11,000 or more I think.

There was lots of Happy Happy Christmas at the Pub today, and I needed all my fingers and toes to count how many lovely SCQuilters joined us from all over the World!

As a one off Christmas Donation, Annie sent around a tin to collect Gold Coins for the Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia Foundation.  Annie reports that $100.00 was collected from the SCQuilters on Saturday which means we can buy:-
2 x Dress Nightgown and Bedding - $60.00
20 x Pairs of Rubber Slippers - $40.00    This is truly wonderful.

Explanation:-  

Our patient's healing starts as soon as they arrive, when they are given a nightgown to wear during their stay.  On the day they leave, they are presented with a new dress to celebrate their return home.  $30.00 is all we need to buy a dress, nightgown and bedding for one patient.

When they arrive at the hospital they almost always come barefoot.  For just $40 we can buy 20 pairs of plastic slippers for patients who arrive with no shoes and they get to walk home to thier village with shoes, some walking over 3 or more days.
