06 March 2016

Lots of different sorts of handwork happening yesterday and I notice I only took photos of half of what was going on... slack eh!

Becky is playing with this wool... see how the pair of socks she's already made don't match, even though they were from the same ball of wool... well Becky bought another similar ball and is making another pair of socks and see how the first one she's knitting up is very similar to the first one she knitted in the pair?  Some people are just too clever!

Wait till you see this absolutely beautiful rug, so bright and happy... Wow, Wow, Wow  Emma.

Love, love and just loving what Glynis is up to with her Hexies!  Can't wait to see more.

Fun Redwork being made by Jackie!

Lots of cutting fabric scraps and samples by Jean above and Rita below.

Jill was binding this Hexagon quilt... I didn't get to see the whole quilt, Dang!

Lizzie is making a book cover and stitching random patterns and stitches.

Looking good Lynne, looking very good.

You don't have to worry about us, we certainly enjoyed our lunch :-) I'm not telling what we ate, I'm worried it will just make you hungry!

07 February 2016

Lets start this months posts with some very inspiring handwork...

Oooppps... how did this photo slip in  :-)   One very delicious Lime Brulee, where did it come from and I wonder who enjoyed it!

Sorry... what happens at the Pub stays at the Pub.

Becky did a very clever casting off of her shawl, she did explain it to me but of course I've forgotten.

When Becky finished her shawl she got started making a pair of socks!  Lovely Wool.

Heather tells me we've already seen this block, I don't really remember if we have or not so I've just been on a treasure hunt and found this photo below taken in October 2015!  Looking good Heather.

Irene's little crochet square, I have seen more of these squares in Irene's collection so I wonder how big this blanket is going to be.

Jill was finishing off the binding on this quilt.

Kathleen bought these two handwork projects along and got some advice and help from her friend Jan.

Lissa finished off this Cotton Reel block today and below the rest of the blocks.   Lissa has great plans for these blocks but we will just have to wait and see how they turn out.

Just check out what Liz is up to, these works of art always fascinate me, so much fine stitchery and this one looks as though it will be enormous!

Lyn was binding this little quilt for a friends grandchild.

Lynne is working with these wonderful woolen fabrics... I have seen the pattern she's working on and so stay tuned for something just beautiful coming up.

Michelle has almost finished knitting this beautiful cardigan/jacket for Erin, her DD1.

Penny was working on this beautiful Christmas stocking for her lovely little grand daughter Amelie!

Yes, yes I know, I know... I said I would never sew Hexagon's again... but I never said 'never ever'  did I :-)    I just needed some mindless handwork to take along when the real aim of these sorts of gatherings... is to chat!

A warning... don't ask me what I'm making because I have no idea!  At the moment it's just mindless easy sewing which keep my hands and head happy :-)

There will be a little story about my Hexagon Collection at the end of today's posts!

Show and Tell... Wow! Wow! Wow!

So so so in love with this quilt of Jenn's, we've watched month by month as each and every border has been very carefully sewn together.  The colours are amazing aren't they.  Two more borders to go, so it's going to be an enormous quilt!

Love, love just love Lissa's pendant!  Coloured Pencils.  I want one... actually I think I really need one!

All finished!  Looking wonderful Becky, just terrific.

This is Ruth's shawl, another beauty with the same finishing off as Beck was doing today.

Cath went to a Quilt Show in Japan.  It was all about Peter Rabbit and William Morris.  Beautiful photos in this book.

Jill almost finished the binding on this lovely quilt, another for her Charity.

Wow!  Lyn's friends grandchild is going to love this quilt, such fun and so colourful!

Look at these beautiful little dresses, Stephanie's Grandmother made them for Steph's two daughters, one of whom is sitting beside Steph.  Stephanie has soaked and washed the dresses and they now look like new again.

Gosh! Marilyn has made another great Bonnie K Hunter quilt, I haven't seen this pattern before and of course I can't remember the name of it... I think I need a secretary to follow me as I take photos and jot down all the wonderful information for you  :-)

Michelle didn't make this bag but someone in Africa did, isn't it just delightful, recycling at it's best eh!

I forgot to bring my 'Show' yesterday... Last week I made this little quilt for Lila Rose, my new Great Niece recently born in Singapore.  I've just got to quilt and post it off.

Penny's two Santa Stockings, one she made for Grand Daughter Madison last year and the stocking she was working on today for Grand Daughter Amelie, what fun they are.
