Another lovely day spent at the Pub!!

Isn't this a little beauty...  In England there is one very special little Grandboy just waiting to meet Lyn W., he doesn't know he's getting  this wonderful train quilt yet!  But won't he just love it!
I love it as well :-)

Below is a quick 'I Spy' Lyn W. is giving to a friends child.

I think this quilt below is a really Funky Erica!

Dianne has finished her Bedford Quilt ... we still love the pattern of this quilt and are looking forward to Bedford's new fund raising Mystery Quilt.   Check out the Bedford Group here.
Erica was putting the finishing touches to this little beauty!

And below Marianne showed us her Bonnie K Hunter 'Star Struck' in a different colour way from the last 'Star Struck' she made... check it out further down this blog on January 9th 2011.

Above is an old quilt top I made about 12 years ago, it's been at the bottom of my ever growing UFO pile of tops all that time but I've almost finished it now and I'm going to give it to the very beautiful Vilma!    Vilma is Nanny to my three wonderful Grandchildren in Macao, she is Filipino and not only looks after my grandchildren beautifully she also looks after their parents just as beautifully... It wasn't till this quilt was almost finished in Liuxin's quilting machine that I noticed one of the blocks is the wrong way around!  Well if it's survived all these years without self distructing because of an error, I guess it can live plenty more  LOL

Below is my Bonnie K Hunter... Roll, Roll Cotton Boll... another UFO top to add to my pile :-)

Marilyn's wonderful Circle!   Actually I think it's about time I put my Wedge Ruler to use again! I love this quilt.
Above is Heather's lovely soft baby quilt.

Below are Lyn A's Hexagons... they keep growing and growing in the most wonderful way don't they...

We were honoured today to have Lyn A's oldest Grandaughter with us, she was busy sewing her Softball badges onto her blanket... Sophie tells me she has 21 badges, so I've asked her to come back when she's sewn them all on so we can see the blanket finished.

Robbie making these lovely circles for her next quilt.

Marilyn and her box full of Suffolk Puffs.

Above... Liz with her Aussie Blocks and below two of her 10, yes that's TEN boxes of threads... only five of them are DMC threads... says Liz!!  She doesn't have much of a stash of fabric, just one awful lot of threads!

Dianne, Marianne and Kate.

Lyn A. front left, then to her right is Bec... who is often on the 'Treadmill of Torture' she tells us on Facebook... I did think this announcement was a game, but no it's for real and you have to agree Bec is looking pretty good after all that Torture!  :-)  Then Irene and Kath.

Claire and Heather.

05 February 2011

A dozen SCQuilters ventured out of their homes, into the 42c heat in Sydney... to gather at the Blue Gum Pub today, enjoying a good chat, laugh and lunch in the Air conditioned comfort! Always a great day!

 Liz was busy sewing...

 Lyn A. was busy sewing...

 Sue was busy sewing...

 Irene was busy sewing...

 Penny was busy stitching...

Joy was busy sewing...
 Heather was busy sewing...

 Lyn was busy sewing...

 Becky was busy sewing...

 Marilyn was busy sewing...

Even Pennie was busy sewing...  but...

Jill just came for lunch and to enjoy a bit of a laugh and a good chat...   Nothing wrong with that, I've been known to do the same  on occasion :-)

Show and Tell of all sorts....

Sue's absolutely spectacular quilt top, it even got a clap from one of the patrons of the Pub sitting on another table.

Heathers Show and Tell was the best though, we all love a baby so when Heather's daughter Belinda surprised us with little Samuel it was oooohhhhsss and aaaahhhhssss all around the room.

Oh!  and Heather had a Quilt to show as well... one for Samuel when he's a bit older.

 Fabulous back to Samuel's quilt.

The two boys at the next table took a shine to this quilt so Heather had to do a special Show just for them :-)
Marilyn says she made this quilt for her DH, for her DH's bed in fact...  a bed which she shares!

Marilyn's version of Bonnie K Hunters latest Mystery Quilt... Roll, Roll Cotton Boll.  Slightly smaller than Bonnie's version and with a different border.... a beauty just the same.

Penny's framed cross stitch, beautiful topic, beautifully made and beautifully framed.

Penny's Sampler cushion... pretty good for her first foray into stitchery is it!
Irene's Ku-ring-gai Challenge Quilt... she had to make a quilt using the fabric in the larger squares in the border... if you would like to see more of these challenge quilts you can check my personal blog.
Scroll to 23rd of  January.
Irene lost the binding for this quilt ages ago, but after a big clean up in her sewing room it reappeared and was added today.
Here is another block to add to Liz's collection, she's not quite sure what size this quilt will be, I can't wait to see some of the blocks together... maybe next month eh Liz?
Here is Joy with her fantastic piece of handwork!

09 January 2011

It's a funny sight when you rock up to the Blue Gum Pub at 10am and find SCQuilters sitting outside waiting for the doors to open :-)) especially when the strongest drink ordered is usually only a Soda, Lime and Bitters...

I think Marianne must have half a dozen elves locked away in her sewing room.  A bit like the Grimm's Fairytale 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'.    Here is her version of the Bonnie K Hunter 'Roll,  Roll, Cotton Boll' the instructions of which have been coming out on a weekly basis over the last 8 weeks.  The Instructions for the final border were posted on Friday night but Marianne (and her Elves) had that border finished before 10am the next morning... not attached to the quilt mind you but ready to put on last night after the Blue Gum.  I'll bet the whole top is finished now!  Wonderful result, I just love her colour choices and wonder if I might change my fabrics before I get around to making this RRCB.

But wait... there's more... another quilt from Marianne.

And one more... this is another Bonnie K Hunter design called Star Struck!

Jackie has  done a brilliant job of hiding her Ugly fabrics in this quilt hasn't she.

Marilyn's stop start... thank goodness it's finished... Hexagon Quilt.

This beautiful quilt is Marilyn's Leesa Seigle Mystery.
