05 April 2009

I almost forgot Show and Tell from Gay in Romsey. Hampshire. Gay lives in Sydney for almost 5 months each year but her home is in England and she's just gone home to a beautiful Spring. Here are a couple of photos she sent me.

Our Show and Tell for April is very different and varied... Enjoy!

Jan from Sylvania - Show and Tell from her recent trip on the Queen Mary 2, sailing from LA to Sydney. That's Jan in the white blouse. We saw many photos of many special evenings with the men in black tie and Jan in lots of very flash formal clothes borrowed from daughters and friends... very amusing it was. Heather from Eglinton near Bathurst was on the same trip as well as my baby brother Nick and his wife Kaye... somehow Nick didn't find the SCQuilters... I wonder how he missed them LOL

This doesn't happen very often so I just had to take a photo... Jan and Lisa enjoyed one of these EACH! We all ooohhhhed and aaaaahhhed! It put smiles on our faces that's for sure.

Heather from Thornleigh - I Spy for a niece or nephew, fabulous blocks aren't they.

Heather's Circle Blocks, we've seen some of them before but the one on top is just finished. I'm looking forward to seeing this quilt when all the blocks are done.

Pennie from Turramurra - Bonnie K Hunters Star Struck Quilt top. These quilt designs of Bonnie's are very rewarding to make because you can use up all sorts of scraps, my pile of blacks has now gone and are all in this quilt. Time consuming and a tad boring to make but... No fabric was freshly bought for this quilt! :-)
Lisa from Kareela - These blocks were crocheted while sitting on the sidelines, watching her children's sporting activities. Lisa has used up all sorts of scraps of wools, cottons and even bamboo.

Glenys from Berowra - I can't remember what this block is from but it's very WOW isn't it.

Erica from Parramatta - More of these wonderful hexagon stars. Erica has a brilliant idea about putting these blocks together... I for one can't wait to see them.

Cate from Cherrybrook - Hexagon blocks that she started before her first child was born, she now has two children :-) the oldest isn't three yet so that's not a long time for blocks is it! She has many many more that aren't in this photo so we might see a quilt yet.

Irene from Thornleigh - is always making some fascinating blocks.
Rebbecca (aged 14) from Como - We've been watching Rebbecca over the years but this quilt is just amazing, her machine applique is so neat and precise... Just wonderful!

Sarah from Como - has all her Double Delight blocks ready to put together.
Sarah from Como - Quilt as your go Log Cabin - I know a lot of you, like us are amazed to see the size of this quilt we all know Sarah for her miniatures don't we :-)
Back of Sarah's Log Cabin Quilt as you go.

Joy from Ryde - A Dolly Quilt for someone special.
Lyn from St Ives - Hexagon Star Quilt is moving along very nicely with only it's three points to be added.

Ros from Berowra - Double Wedding Ring Quilt for DS2's wedding has grown a lot since we last saw it.

Bec from Ryde - Star Quilt - Bec has to quilt two and a half stars every night to have this quilt ready for the Eastwood Patchwork Quilters 2009 Exhibition from May 1 - 3... Will she do it... that is the question! Come along and see if she makes it, click on the 'red' for more details.

Cath from Minchinbury - I Spy for a special child in her life.

Cath from Minchinbury - Star Quilt for her SIL... Cath needs one 8" square of the border fabric to finish it off. Do you know this fabric?
